Despite restrictions caused by the Corona Virus pandemic, the show simply must go on. The Feather Awards have officially announced their 2020 nominees and we can’t wait until they take place on 11 November.
The list of nominees was announced at a small media gathering in Johannesburg where many personalities were in attendance. From creatives specializing in the entertainment industry, to lifestyle, sport, business and everything in between, the stars certainly came out to shine.
The nominees have all inspired and represented the LGBTQI+ community with great excellence and with that, will be celebrated for the work they do in uplifting and supporting the LGBTQI+ community. Commenting on the journey of the awards from when they started 12 years ago is the founder himself, Thami Kotlolo saying:
“Can you believe it? We are 12 years old this year. What a ride it’s been. From starting out as a small celebration of our community, the Feathers have transformed into a gigantic well-oiled operation. Showcasing our LGBTQI community to the world, empowering South African youth with the LGBTQI+ Dialogues and then, of course, the big celebration at the end with these over the top colourful awards. And with a slight delay in all festivities this year, we are turning up the love and looking to a positive future ahead in 2021.”
