Holly Rey is possibly one of the greatest vocalists to emerge from the country. The platinum selling singer and songwriter, is the first female in 20 years to scoop the SAMA Record of the Year in 2019. She recently released the visuals for her single, Spend My Time.
The self-directed and self-produced visuals for the song encompass all the things we love about Holly Rey. They are laidback, fun and wholesome to say the least. In a recent conversation with we had with the singer, she chats the inspiration behind the song and what she went through when she shooting the music video.
We asked her if she ever dabble in Amapiano and she denied and said she wouldn’t saying that she doesn’t believe that it would be authentic to her sound and style of music.
“I love collaborating outside my genre but I don’t think that I would put out an Amapiano track because I don’t think that would be being true to who I am and the music I want to make for myself, “she explains. She does mention that she doesn’t hate Amapiano and insists that she constantly listens to the genre. Holy Rey has been featured on several Amapiano inspired single and we can definitely see her dabble in the genre if she ever chooses to.
